2020 Wedding Dress Trends

2020 Wedding Dress Trends

Lets face it, we’re all obsessed with the wedding dress trends that have evolved over time……

Well, 2020 has finally mastered some of the biggest wedding fashion since 1990. And we’re about to nail them.

Floral Prints

Bold floral prints made an appearance in several 2020 wedding dress collections, adding a burst of color to the classically white runways of Bridal Fashion Week. Whether they're subtle and pastel, edgy and oversized or in the form of textural, 3-D embroideries, this cool-girl way to pull off florals adds whimsical visual interest to any wedding dress silhouette.

Ruffles

If ever there's a time to indulge your inner hopeless romantic, your wedding day is it—and it doesn't get more romantic than this frilly, ultra-feminine detail. A ruffly skirt adds dimension to a mermaid silhouette, while a full skirt of frothy, cascading ruffles is equal parts whimsical and fashion forward.

Pants

These sleek dress alternatives are comfortable, figure flattering and totally of the moment. Bonus: It's basically impossible to put on one of these tailored ensembles and not feel like a badass. For the 2020 bridal trends, lace details, 3-D floral embellishments and metallic beading gave classic white suits and jumpsuits a modern upgrade. Not to mention CUTE.

Airy Dresses

From streamlined ball gowns to sheer sheaths, light-as-air gowns took over the runways and 2020 wedding dresses. Effortless fabrics like tulle and organza give off a gorgeous ethereal vibe without any additional bulk, so you can hit the dance floor without stressing about tripping over your gown or feeling weighed down. Do you know what we call that? A serious bridal fashion win.

Short Dresses

If you're eloping, going for a super casual wedding style or just looking for a good excuse to show some leg and a killer pair of shoes, this 2020 wedding dress trend is for you. Opting for a long gown for the day of? A short, white dress is also perfect for all of your other wedding-related events like your rehearsal dinner or bridal shower

Sparkle

Bring on the bling. While glitz and glitter is nothing new where bridal fashion is concerend, over-the-top sequins, tonal beading and metallic embellishments turned the Fall 2020 Bridal Fashion Week runways into a glittery affair worthy of Studio 54. Perfect for evening nuptials, this wedding dress trend is daring but sophisticated. Pro tip: If you're rocking a gown with lots of sparkle, keep your accessories minimal and let your glitzy frock do all the talking.

Top 5 2020 Wedding Trends

Our event professionals have researched the upcoming 2020 wedding trends, by category!

1. “Tropulence” Theme

https://junebugweddings.com/wedding-blog/6-wedding-themes-that-are-trending-in-2020/

https://junebugweddings.com/wedding-blog/6-wedding-themes-that-are-trending-in-2020/

So, what is tropulence exactly? It’s luxurious and lavish with a tropical twist. So, while the organic and natural feel of boho tropical weddings will never go out of style, tropical opulence takes it one step further with gold accents, lush florals, and luxurious textures. We are seeing a lot of bright colour schemes, bright flowers, lots of tropical vibes (pineapples, beach, sand), greenery & plants. You will be seeing venue’s & spaces that are able to achieve a “beach theme”, or outdoor weddings.

2. Micro Weddings

This wedding trend is by invite only—think 40 people or less. But like any exclusive party, a celebration of this kind delivers big. Truly the best option for introverted personalities, or couples interested in celebrating with loved ones only. The budget per person might be higher, but you only need to focus on who you’d like there. Lots of personalization in your decor planning, but it is worth it! Less stress to deal with.

3. Table Remix

This one is budget friendly: instead of only ten-top rounds or a long farmhouse table, opt for more artful settings. Winding tables—multiple tables pushed together to create a design—add an extra element to reception set ups. Not enough room to snake your seating? Configure your long rectangular tables into a fun design (think: X marks the spot).

4. Grazing & Dessert Tables

The cutting of the wedding cake is over, it’s the biggest non-event, so on a final sweet note, well actually savoury – it’s time to wave goodbye to traditional wedding cakes in place of cheese towers and cheese boards, donuts and grazing tables!

5. Trending Colour Hues

MANN AND WIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

MANN AND WIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

Color is one of our favorite 2020 wedding trends. Expect to see a lot of neo mint, a.k.a. the new millennial pink; cassis, not quite pink, not quite purple; yellow, a mellow, rich hue with earthy undertones; and faded denim, a blue that equally fresh and serene. We are also seeing a lot of greenery, bright pinks & blues. Brides in 2020 aren’t afraid to really stand out!

Our event professionals are here to chat about 5 reasons why you NEED a photo-booth at your next event. Whether it be a corporate or social event, your attendees are sure to call you the coolest cat in town!

Amy and Jason-200.jpg

  1. Suitable for any occasion

Because people love to take photos of themselves, everyone will surely try it and have his or her own picture taken. Every guest who tries the photo booth will get his or her printed photos with the event name, date, and even photos of the celebrator. If the photo is posted on social media such as on their Facebook accounts, it will forever be remembered as it will pop on their memory feature year after year. Dead air can also happen when guests are waiting for the special guests to arrive or for dinner to be served. Installing a photo booth in your event is a unique way to break that dullness. Weddings, corporate or social events ~ a photo-booth is the way to go. It keeps your attendees engaged & creates for a fantastic atmosphere.

2. Personalized for your event ~ Made just for you!

Photo booths allow you and your guests to add a personal touch to photos. A photo booth offers a set of fun props for guests to pose with. You can even supply your own costumes and props if that is what you prefer, especially if they are suitable to the event theme. With us here at Snaptique, we customize your photo-layout to match your theme! Any #Hashtags, dates, names & personalized sayings are put directly on your photo layout. To get real custom, we can even customize your event with custom props, green screen back-drops, right down to staging/decor of an event.

3. Suitable for all ages.

One good thing about photo booths is that it resonates with people of all ages. It is always great to see the older generation and young people appreciate a common thing, and that is what a photo booth will do for your party. The idea has been around for ages and the experience is not too different from what the old souls used to enjoy. A Modern photo booth simplifies the process, rather, and makes things a lot more fun.

4. Enhance your conference.

Headshots are used for everything from the company website to LinkedIn profile pics. Sadly, the majority of headshots are stale and boring. The process itself can be headache inducing.

It’s difficult to have a good time when getting a headshot feels like you’re having your photo taken at Service Ontario! You can also use a digital photo booth to quickly and efficiently take professional-quality headshots, even if you aren’t interested in using filters or props. Make it fun.

“Reimagine the employee headshot. With a digital photo booth, getting new headshots can actually be… fun!”- Simple Booth

5. Perfect way to market your brand.

Most photo booths can be quite customizable. You can brand their physical appearance, the touchscreen interface, and even the photos. Not only will your brand be present at your event, but your guests will take it home with them. It’s the perfect way to showcase your awesome brand to all. Corporate event planners LOVE when we customize events. Right down to the company logos, we take great pride in marketing your company. After your event, we create a gallery of all your photos & have your company logo on our website.

Light Up The Square 2019

This year we got the honour of being invited to 2019’s Light Up The Square at Celebration Square in Mississauga! Our Snaptique team hopped in Santa’s sleigh and got down there to assist families with their Santa photos. Below is a photo of our staging & decor we put together for our awesome client!

We got a lot of great feedback from families & how thankful they were for family Santa photos, thank-you for everyone who came out (and patiently waited in line) to get a photo with Santa. We enjoyed seeing all the smiles, laughter, tears & excitement that came with the busy night. It was great seeing all the family & friends gather together to celebrate the holidays.

This gorgeous estate is located in the woodlands of Cambridge, Ontario! After two expansions it is no doubt that Langdon Hall is still a favourite wedding venue. 4. Canada’s Wonderland, Winterfest 2020

The trend this winter looks like “winter villages” as Canada’s Wonderland has now created their own version of Christmas! Packed with attractions for the entire family & they even have their own skating rink. Our favourite attraction that we can’t wait to see has to be Candy Cane Lane! Candy Cane Lane is a delightful walk on the sweet side with larger-than-life décor that’s perfect for a family photo. We all know this venue is open all summer long, open for Halloween & now Christmas?! Hold onto your hat Santa, because Snoopy and the whole gang are going to be there. Open November 22nd - December 22nd, get your tickets & bring the whole family. This is also a great venue to take your engagement photos. They also have a private area you’re welcome to host your holiday party at! Wink wink, nudge nudge your manager folks ~ this winter village is looking like competition for all winter venues this year.

5. Distillery District, Toronto’s Christmas Market

Everyone knows & loves the annual Christmas Market hosted in the Distillery District in downtown Toronto. This year the event is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary! November 14 to December 22, open everyday except Mondays, you can go and explore the vendors & the decoration that Toronto is known for around the world. There will also be entertainment, Santa and his elves, light canopies and of course, heated mulled wine. Buy your tickets online or at the door ~ but it is bound to be busy. Last year, a couple even got engaged at the famous Christmas tree & our wedding professionals were LOVING it. The fairy light lane is perfect for any engagement shoots, or get a family photo with Santa. Thinking about getting engaged this year? The Toronto Christmas Market is the perfect seasonal event space, and this is why we saved it for last. We love a good old fashioned Christmas wedding!

5 Ways to Enhance your Holiday Party

Holiday season is back & that also means corporate holiday parties! Whether your event is on-site or off-site we’re here to help you enhance your holiday party! If you're thinking about hosting a holiday party this year, plan to go a little outside of the box. Not only will it make you feel more creative, but your guests are also more likely to remember your effort.

  1. Holiday Happy Hour

Who doesn’t love a festive themed drink? Get your attendees in the mood with adding a festive drink option to the menu. 99% of attendees enjoy decor, food & beverage items as well as menu style if it goes with the event theme. Make sure you also add a mocktail option for those who don’t drink alcohol so you can cater to all attendees. You may also add a festive #Hashtag for your drink options, so attendee’s can share on Instagram/Facebook. We have included this festive twist on the Moscow Mule cocktail for an example.

2. Level up your Secret Santa

Having a Secret Santa gift exchange can be fun, but let's be honest - it gets a little worn-out year after year. Try changing things up with a white elephant gift exchange, where everyone brings a gift that's strange, funny, or unusable. In lieu of an office gift swap, have everyone put the money they would have spent on a gift towards charity. One good option is to "adopt" a family in need in your area. Have a cookie swap. Everyone brings a plate of their favorite cookies (as well as the recipe, if they're homemade). Draw names to decide who gets which cookies (please double check your staff dietary restrictions!).

Discover & share this Christmas GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search, share, discover, and create GIFs.

3. Add a Photo-booth

Yes, you knew it was coming. Obviously having a photo-booth at your holiday party is a MUST. Snaptique has a wide variety of holiday themed options from props, staging/decor to customized photo-booth layouts for your event. Your attendees get to take their photos home with them as a reminder of how cool their staff holiday party was! You also can switch it up with having staff photos with Santa, bring the family along & make a day out of it.

4. Decor & Staging

Start your party from the outside first., you want your attendees to feel the vibe before they even enter the room. You can start with the entrance: balloon arches, twinkle lights, festive decor, “north pole” signs, fake snow, etc. Go with your theme & attract attendee attention by starting from the outside!

Christmas-Balloon-Arch-Decoration.jpg

https://www.thatballoons.com/balloon-decorations/christmas-balloon-arch-decoration-2/

5. Christmas World-Wide

An awesome office holiday party can serve a larger business purpose by building bonds of diversity and inclusion across your team. Attendees can bring different holiday traditions or decor to show off the uniqueness of each team member. This will ensure that even those staff members who don’t celebrate Christmas, will get the chance to participate!
